Bay to Breakers
So, its getting serious. Yesterday the weather cleared up, so I braved my run outside. Usually I run on an indoor track at
UC Davis' ARC. On that track, I have my miles down to 8.5 minutes for a 3 mile jog and about 7.5 minutes in a timed mile.
For some reason on surface streets I slow way down. I ran 3.5 miles yesterday in 32 minutes. That puts me at over 9 minutes per mile and I felt every one of those miles, too. I'd like to improve to 8 minute miles before the end of next month.
The
bay to breakers is coming up in May. Here's a plot of the course at
Gmaps Pedometer. That site's pretty cool for plotting out your running routes. Especially cool is the elevation graph. See if you can spot Hayes Hill in the B2B plot. That one can kick your butt.
